Shera Kelly   

Shera Kelly is a voice teacher, voice coach, performer and singer songwriter in Vancouver BC. She has taught voice and guitar for 10 years, and has been singing and performing for over 17 years. Shera has studied with world class instructors including: Jeanette Lovetri (The Lovetri Method), Cheryl Hodge (Paula Cole), Judith Rabinovitch (Sarah Mchlachlan), Laura Landsberg, and with Ieva Wool.

 

Shera is passionate about teaching and performing music as it brings people together, is a creative way to share and experience emotions, and above all, it is fascinatingly fun! Shera delights in assisting her students to find their own unique voices, and the freedom to express themselves musically. Shera works with professional voice actors, musicians and actors as well as students starting as absolute beginners. 

 

Shera graduated from a Berklee sister school (Selkirk College) for vocal performance. She has received Colombia Basin touring and Factor demo grants, and travelled across Canada playing venues ranging from farmers fields and festivals, to onboard VIA Rail trains. In 2011, she and her band worked with producer Winston Hauschild (Hannah Georgas, Hey Ocean) to release her first EP “A Bicycle Commuters Anthem”. The EP was warmly received by audiences and critics.

In 2015, Shera obtained a diploma in Community Choir and Leadership Training in Victoria, BC. She taught the East Vancouver Kitchen Choir for 2 years in East Vancouver and she has also currently teaches a kids choir at Osler Elementary school. Shera has attended Level 3 of Somatic Voicework, taught by Jeannette Lovetri at Baldwin Wallace University. She currently teaches out of her home studio in Kelowna BC, near Knox Mountain.

In her spare time Shera enjoys taking acting classes, improv classes and seeing as many Fringe plays as possible. She also absolutely loves snorkelling and meeting tropical fish.
